iranian-parliament-presidentChairman of the Parliamentary Assembly of BiH, Safet Softic, and his deputy, Ognjen Tadic, who are paying an official working visit to the Islamic Republic of Iran, met with their host, the President of the Iranian Parliament Ali Ardeshir Larijani.

Chairman Softic said that the relations between BiH and Iran are very friendly, and that revival of political connections need to contribute to the progress of economic, cultural and other cooperation. He added that the peoples of BiH will not forget the help of Iran when it was needed the most.

According to the President Larijani, the people of Iran is satisfied to see that terrible wars and suffering are behind Balkan states, and he expressed full support for the European path of our country. Especially since closer cooperation of BiH as a future member of the European family tomorrow means a stronger cooperation with the European Union as one of the strategic foreign policy goals of Iran.

Deputy Chairman of the House of Peoples Ognjen Tadic said that the mission of the members of parliaments of BiH and Iran is creation of rules for the future, not the past, and that in light of the order that is created in the world, it is important to understand multipolarity of large regions that are exchanging positive values among themselves. One such region is precisely the region where Iran and Tehran have a central role.

Considerable attention was paid to the inter-parliamentary cooperation between the two countries, besides the need for more frequent and more intense communication of the leadership of parliaments, and they also emphasized the necessity of close cooperation between the parliamentary groups of friendship.

During the exchange of views on terrorism as a current global problem, chairman Softic praised the active role of Iran in the resolution of problems in the region, noting that it is an evil against which the progressive forces can fight only in a systematic and united way,” as announced from the Department of Public Relations of PA BiH.
