Chairman of BiH Presidency attended 73rd Session of the UN General Assembly

Chairman of BiH Presidency Bakir Izetbegovic attended the opening of the general debate of the 73rd Session of the UN General Assembly, and addressed the  Assembly later in the day.

Chairman Izetbegovic focused his address on the need to preserve and strengthen the United Nations, restructuring of this organization and the return to its founding values and principles, mandate and mission, as well as strengthening of its unity, credibility and relevance.

During his address, Mr. Izetbegovic highlighted the need to protect the international order based on the respect of the international law and on the values and principles in the UN Charter, as the key factor for prevention and solving of crises and conflicts, and for peacekeeping.

In his speech, Chairman Izetbegovic highlighted and gave strong support of Bosnia and Herzegovina to the implementation of the UN 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.

BiH Presidency Chairman Bakir Izetbegovic met with UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres, and he also attended the reception organized by American President Donald Trump.

The delegation of Bosnia and Herzegovina includes BiH Foreign Minister Igor Crnadak, Ambassador of BiH in the UN Ivica Dronjic, and Dijana Cekic, advisor to the BiH Presidency Member from the RS Dr. Mladen Ivanic.
