The Chairperson of the Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Borjana Krišto, will be in Brussels tomorrow, where she will participate in the Second High-Level Political Forum on the EU integration of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The forum will be attended by collegiate members of both houses of the Parliamentary Assembly of BiH (PSBiH) and representatives of clubs of both houses of the PSBiH, political leaders, prime ministers of entities, prime ministers of ten cantons in the Federation of BiH and the mayor of Brčko District of BiH, announced the Council of Ministers of BiH.
The second high-level BiH-EU Political Forum will be held under the chairmanship of the Commissioner for Neighborhood and Enlargement, Oliver Varhelyi.
Participants are expected to discuss progress in fulfilling 14 key priorities from the European Commission’s Opinion, reform steps announced when Bosnia and Herzegovina received candidate status, and reforms related to the new Growth Plan for the Western Balkans of the European Union.
Before the forum itself, there will be a meeting of party leaders from Bosnia and Herzegovina with Commissioner Varhelyi.
The first Political Forum was held on May 17 this year, also in Brussels, where the political and institutional leaders of Bosnia and Herzegovina undertook to carry out a certain number of key activities in order to move forward on the path of European integration.
The focus of the talks was on fulfilling the conditions for the opening of accession negotiations as soon as possible, and the participants agreed to gather at a new forum in six months.
In the meantime, the European Commission recommended the opening of accession negotiations with Bosnia and Herzegovina, provided that the conditions necessary for membership are sufficiently fulfilled.
