Chairwoman called for the Abolition of Customs Tariffs on the Import of American Goods

After US President Donald Trump introduced tariffs on goods from almost all countries in the world, including Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH), the Chairperson of the Presidency of BiH Željka Cvijanović commented.

She called on the competent institutions to define solutions as soon as possible that would include the complete abolition of any burdens on imports from the United States.

“We absolutely understand President Trump’s intention to put America first and to protect the economic interests of his country. I am convinced that by removing customs rates on imports of American goods, we would avoid the announced introduction of reciprocal tariffs of 35 percent for products from BiH, and thus the damage to our businessmen who export to the US,” said Cvijanović.

As she says, this will contribute to a more dynamic development with the US and the Trump administration.
