Children from seven Cantons visiting Istanbul

iz-sarajeva-150-uenika-iz-sedam-kantona-bih-otputovala-u-istanbul_ac11f2cAround 150 students from state schools from seven cantons in Bosnia and Herzegovina who study Turkish language departed for Istanbul yesterday, where they will spend seven days.

The trip was organized by the Turkish Cultural Center Yunus Emre within the project “My choice is Turkish”.

Deputy Director of the Turkish Culture Center Yunus Emre Mustafa Yildiz said that children will come back on September 3 and that they will visit different cultural and historical sites in Istanbul, including the Topkapi palace, Dolmabahce palace, Aya Sofya, museums and other places. They will also have an opportunity to taste the delicious Turkish cousinie in the best restaurants in Istanbul.

“We selected the children through different competitions: drawing, Turkish language, sports,” Yildiz said.

According to Yildiz, several thousand students in state schools in seven cantons of BiH are learning Turkish language. Negotiations with ministries of education are in progress, so this number might increase and students of other cantons might also start learning Turkish.
