Director-General of the World Health Organization (WHO) Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus said that children who survived the bombing in Gaza may die of starvation.

Ghebreyesus shared a post on social media platform X about the famine in Gaza and the deaths of children as a result.

“Children who survived the bombing in Gaza may starve to death,” Ghebreyesus said.

He called for facilitating the delivery of more humanitarian aid to Gaza.

Ghebreyesus also reiterated his call for a “ceasefire” for Gaza.

While Israel has prevented aid from entering the Gaza Strip, where it has been waging devastating attacks for nearly five months, causing a major “humanitarian disaster” in the region, Israel’s “starvation policy” has so far led to the deaths of 18 children, the youngest of whom was a 2-week-old baby.
