All over Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH), holy masses were celebrated on the occasion of the most joyous Christian holiday – the birth of Jesus Christ. Yesterday, Christmas was celebrated by believers who celebrate holidays according to the Gregorian calendar.

A large number of believers in the Cathedral of Jesus’ Sacred Heart

In Sarajevo’s ”Jesus’ Sacred Heart” cathedral, a holy mass was held led by the Archbishop of Vrhbosna, Metropolitan Monsignor Tomo Vuksic.

The mass on the occasion of the biggest Catholic holiday, Christmas, was attended by a larger number of believers compared to the previous two years, when the number was limited due to the coronavirus pandemic.

The Holy Mass was also held in Banja Luka

With the presence of a large number of believers of the Catholic faith, a solemn Christmas mass was celebrated in the Cathedral of Saint Bonaventure in Banja Luka.

The Holy Mass was led by Bishop Franjo Komarica of Banja Luka, who said that this day represents the entry of God into human history, and that on Christmas, recognized love is reciprocated with love.

Believers in Mostar shared the joy of the most joyous Christian holiday

Christmas was also celebrated in Mostar. The Holy Christmas Mass in the Mostar Cathedral of Mary Mother of the Church was led by Don Josip Galic, pastor of the Mostar Cathedral Parish.

He said that the word Christmas is a diminutive of the word God and that God made a step forward in human history, which is imperative for people to make a step forward towards God.

Tuzla: May the joy of Christmas remain in the believers throughout the year
