Centers of civil initiatives and civil society organizations that gather patient users of the services of the Solidarity Fund of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina held protests in front of the FBiH Parliament building, asking the authorities to provide funding for the Fund.
Those gathered said that they are protesting the decisions of the Government of the Federation of BiH, which are on the agenda of the session of the House of Representatives of the FBiH Parliament, scheduled for tomorrow, July 25, by which the Government of FBiH did not take a step towards solving the financing problem of the FBiH Solidarity Fund.
The organizers of the protest pointed out that due to the lack of cytostatics, there are currently 209 patients with metastatic breast cancer on waiting lists in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
“Women are dying waiting for a cure. It’s not some women there, it’s our fellow citizens, our mothers, daughters, sisters, close friends. They’re dying of breast cancer, and they didn’t get a chance for treatment at all,” said Enida Glušac from the Renaissance Association of People Suffering from Breast Cancer and Other Malignant Diseases.
The gathered citizens carried banners that read “Do we have the right to life?”, “Are we equal citizens?”, “Respect the law and provide funds for the Fund”, “You decide on our life”…
