The Italian scouts of Agesci Detachment 3 Reggio Emilia are visiting Konjic, which will be twinned with the Municipality of Livorno. The city authorities of Konjic hosted a reception for these scouts today.
Konjic and Livorno last year, as announced by the City of Konjic, established cooperation that should result in twinning soon. As a result of the activities so far, a group of 26 Italian scouts from the mentioned detachment, led by Tamara Cvetoovic, representative of the ISCOS organization, is staying in Konjic these days for a summer camp. She is the mediator in these activities.
The mayor of Konjic, Osman Catic, hosted a reception for guests from Italy, during which, as stated, the details related to the process of institutional connection between Konjic and Livorno and the areas to which the cooperation will relate were defined.
“I am glad that these young people, through the continuation of already established cooperation, arrived in Bosnia and Herzegovina and Konjic, so that through various activities and direct contact with people, they could feel all the valuable things we have, get to know the cultural and natural values. The City Council of Livorno already made a unanimous decision to go into the process of signing the twinning agreement, and that makes me happy, because in the coming months we can expect their representatives in Konjic to make everything official and sign. sector at the level of our communities,” said Ćatić, who wished the guests a pleasant stay.
Tamara Cvetkovic, representative of the ISCOS organization, thanked Mayor Catic and the City of Konjic for the welcome and all the facilities that were organized for the guests from Italy.
“We feel at home. The idea of the camp was for young people to help the society of Konjic through socially useful work, realizing through their upbringing the true values that will help them create a better future for everyone, and we sincerely hope that we succeeded in that. During the stay in Bosnia and Herzegovina, apart from Konjic, we visited Srebrenica, Sarajevo, and the plan is to visit other cities in Bosnia and Herzegovina,” said Cvetkovic.
A member of the Italian scout squad, Davide Maestri, pointed out that they are enjoying Bosnia and Herzegovina.
“Through getting to know the history of Bosnia and Herzegovina and Konjic, we learned a lot of important things and these will be useful lessons in our maturation. We really enjoy these days. The people we met are hospitable and through meeting them we feel as if we are brothers, which is indescribable,” Maestri said, as reported by the City of Konjic.
