The City of Ljubuski will, for the fourth time in a row, pay Christmas bonuses to pensioners with minimum pensions, and the support in the amount of 100 BAM will be paid together with the pension payment for December.
The proposal of the Decision on the payment of one-time financial assistance to pensioners on the occasion of the upcoming holidays, at the initiative of the mayor of Ljubuski Vedran Markotic, was unanimously adopted by the City Council.
As stated in the proposal of the decision, the right to the allowance belongs to pensioners who have residence in the area of the City of Ljubuski and are recipients of the lowest paid pension in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina (FBiH).
The support amounts to 100 BAM and will be paid together with the pension payment for December through the Federal Institute for Pension and Disability Insurance, and the funds for this purpose have been secured in the Budget of the City of Ljubuski.
In addition to pensioners, successful students will also receive support as recipients of the rector’s and dean’s awards for the 2024/2025 academic year. This proposal of the decision was also unanimously adopted by the councillors, and the right to it, in the amount of 500 BAM, belongs to recipients of rector’s and dean’s awards of state universities, as well as federal awards from the Federal Ministry of Education and Science.
“As in previous years, this year too the City will reward the most successful students. Also, we are continuing with assistance to pensioners. The amount remains the same, it is not large, more a symbolism from the City and from all of us to help in that way as much as we can,” said the president of the City Council, Tihomir Kvesic.
