The City of Sarajevo negotiate on Rolling Stones Concert at the Kosevo Stadium in May

Rolling StonesThe city of Sarajevo is negotiating with the organizers of the concert on the arrival of the biggest rock band in the history of the Rolling Stones in Sarajevo, as confirmed by the Assistant of Mayor for Education, Culture, and Sport, Ramiz Kadic. The concert would be held in May this year at the Kosevo Stadium.

According to Kadic, the idea of the concert is primarily a desire of legendary frontman Mick Jagger.

“Jagger expressed his desire to come to Sarajevo and make a concert for our region through intermediaries. One manager from Zagreb spoke with the Rolling Stones, after which the complete organization came to me for negotiations and they told me that Mick Jagger exclusively wants to hold a concert for the region in Sarajevo,” said Kadic.

As we found out, Raiffeisen Bank is interested in being a sponsor of the concert, i.e. to put a bank guarantee for the entire organization with the guarantee of the City and Canton Sarajevo for the concert.

According to the Assistant of Mayor for Education, Culture, and Sport, Sarajevo offered half the amount that Zagreb paid for their concert.

“The negotiations on the arrival of the Rolling Stones in Sarajevo include some former members of the legendary Sarajevo band Indexi. Specific details as well as information about the organizers of the concert, should be known next week,” said Kadic.

The city of Sarajevo on the 26th of July last year accepted the request of the organizers of the concert and the decision to accept the honorary patronage signed by the Mayor of Sarajevo Ivo Komsic who also confirmed that during the summer of 2016 started intensive negotiations on holding the concert.

The decision stated that this concert should attract audience throughout the Balkans and Europe. The Mayor of Sarajevo, knowing the importance of holding of such an event, made a decision on accepting the patronage without financial obligation of the City of Sarajevo.

So far, the Rolling Stones held concerts in Croatia, twice, both times in Zagreb – 1976 and 1998. The band, led by frontman Mick Jagger, also performed for the audience in Belgrade in July 2007.
