In the Canton of Sarajevo, the “Alert” and “Warning” episodes have been canceled, as well as all the intervention measures that were in force in the past few days due to air pollution.

The decision to cancel the Alert, which was declared for five municipalities, was made by the KS Government, and the decision to cancel the Warning for the entire Canton area was made by the competent cantonal ministry, based on the report of the expert body.

Air quality has significantly improved since this morning due to the wind that cleared the Sarajevo basin during the past night. During the day, the values of polluting PM10 particles dropped drastically in the area of Ilijaš, where the air was the most polluted in the past 24 hours.

According to the last measurements at 4 pm at all cantonal measuring stations, the values of this pollutant are low and range from six to 17 micrograms per cubic meter of particles.

Mostly cloudy weather is forecast for the next days as well, with variable wind intensity and possible temperature inversions. Due to such weather conditions, there will be oscillations in air quality.
