moneyAgreement between the Council of Ministers of BiH and the Government of the Russian Federation, which refers to the clearing debt of the former USSR, entered into force upon publication in the “Official Gazette of BiH”, with which the requirements for the payment of 125 million USD on the account in the Central Bank BiH were officially met, as announced by the Ministry of Finance and Treasury of BiH.

“Ministry of Finance and Treasury of BiH informed the Embassy of the Russian Federation that BiH fulfilled all conditions for realization of obligations under the Agreement on regulating obligations of the former USSR by calculations in regard to the exchange of goods between the former USSR and the former SFRY, which the Minister of Finance and Treasury, Vjekoslav Bevanda, signed in Moscow on behalf of BiH.

Moreover, the note to the Ministry of Finance of the Russian Federation was sent through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of BiH with the aim of informing about these facts, as said in the announcement.

This agreement stipulates that the moment of entry into force of this agreement is the date of obtaining the last written notification about the fulfillment of internal procedures that are required for its realization and the Minister of Finance and Treasury, Vjekoslav Bevanda, requested information from Russia on whether all the procedures have been completed in the Russian Federation.

After receiving the response of the Russian Federation, the period of 45 days in which is expected payment of funds to the account of the Ministry of Finance and Treasury opened in the Central Bank of BiH, will start.

With the ratification of the agreement, BH side created preconditions for the realization of commitments that both parties agreed within the agreement, which means that there are no formal obstacles for the transaction of funds in the amount of 125 million BAM in favor of BiH.

The funds of the clearing debt will be distributed by already predetermined percentages: the FBiH will receive 58 %, the RS will receive 29 %, BH institutions will receive 10 % and Brcko District will receive 3 %, according to the statement.
