The traditional lighting of the candles of city center’s tree by the heads of the city administration continues, and this year the Mayor of Sarajevo Ivo Komšić lit the tree, along with the help of the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Norway Anne Vibeke Lilloe and Head of the USAID Mission to B&H David Barth.

For the third year in a row at the same place, Sarajevo Holiday Market offers a chance for festive shopping within the 29 houses, where exhibitors will display their crafts, quality products, delicacies…This fair manifestation will complement and offer winter offers in the capital city of B&H through a variety of entertainment and will last until 14 January 2014.

‘’This will be a great joy for children and I believe that Sarajevo Holiday Market will be visited by a huge number of citizens of Sarajevo and tourists, and that hardworking people who offer their products will have a chance for promotion and it will be beneficial to them’’, said Mayor Komšić.

The Head of the USAID Mission to B&H David Barth said that USAID will continue to work on the promotion of tourism development together with the city and municipal governments, and one of the examples of partner relations are informative panels that can be seen on Baščaršija.

Coca-Cola Holiday Market, modeled after the Christmas markets in cities in Western Europe, had around 150,000 visitors last year, and this year citizens and visitors will be able to safely enjoy a wide variety of interesting activities during the holiday period.
