Conference in Berlin to Focus on Stronger Cooperation of Western Balkan Countries

berlinDeputy Chairman of the Council of Ministers and Minister of Foreign Affairs of BiH Zlatko Lagumdžija will participate in a Conference on the Western Balkans, which will be hosted by German Chancellor Angela Merkel in Berlin on August 28th.

The Conference will focus on topics the states of the region identified as priorities, which should contribute to economic development and stronger regional connection.

In that context, the Conference in Berlin is perceived as the beginning of implementation of initiative of giving new encouragement to making progress in field of economy, competitiveness, growth and employment and rule of law in the region. At the same time, the Conference should confirm commitment to the European perspective of the Western Balkan countries.

Common determination of the Western Balkan countries for stronger cooperation at the regional level was expressed in form of informal initiative of the Western Balkan countries at the meeting of Western Balkan foreign ministers, which was held on July 10th  this year in Kotor.

After the Conference in Berlin, Minister Lagumdžija will host a meeting of Western Balkan foreign ministers during the UN General Assembly in New York in September this year.
