health-conferenceWith a keynote speech by Prof. Dr. Miroslav Mađarić, the first IT Health Care Days 2016 conference started yesterday in the Hotel Sarajevo. The attending IT experts from health sector will be talking about perspectives and trends of IT solutions in the health sector and get an insight into the implemented and planned projects in BiH, region, and the world. The conference is organized by the BiH company medIT, which is the regional leader in the field of application of ICT technologies in health, as well as the association HL7 BiH.

While thanking the attending IT experts from public and private institutions, institutes and clinic for recognizing the importance of this conference, Director of the company medIT Ltc Samir Dedović emphasized that the conference will provide an overview of the latest solutions and applications of ICT technology in the health sector.

„We recognized the current situation on the market and the true need for organization of one such conference. Our desire is to connect the IT health scene from BiH with the region and the rest of the world. We will talk abut very interesting topics and implemented projects and I believe that two very productive days are ahead of us,“ said Dedović yesterday, and also thanked the Ministry of Health of FBiH – the official sponsor of the conference.

Prof. Dr. Miroslav Mađarić emphasized the health management has to follow the trends of modern management.

„E-Health is not only a technological innovation but an organizational one as well. It significantly improves everyday activities, facilitates the job of medical staff, provides better services for patients and, in addition, rationalizes costs,“ Mađarić said and mentioned the positive example of the project eReceipt in Croatia, which is one of the best-implemented projects of eHealth in Europe.

Secretary of the Ministry of Health of FBiH Snježana Bondaruk stated that investing in the development of IT technologies in the health sector is an obligation of BiH when it comes to EU integration.

“IT technologies are our present and our future. We are a body that processes all laws in this field and that is why we highly appreciate the efforts of organizers to put this topic in the focus of the public. So far, through the World Bank we provided significant funds for the strengthening of eHealth in FBiH and we will certainly continue this practice,” said Bondaruk and added that IT solutions in health sector save energy, time, and money.

Until tomorrow, the conference IT Health Care Days 2016 will process topics and projects such as eChart, eReceipt, IT Lab, challenges in establishing ICT networks, legislature and privacy in eHealth, and education of IT experts in the health sector.
