bih i turskaIn the hall of the University of Sarajevo a conference called “BiH-Turkish Legal Days” will be held from 5-6 April.

The Law Faculty of Sarajevo is organizing the conference in cooperation with the Law Faculty of the University of Istanbul.

The Law Faculty in Sarajevo is the oldest institution of higher education in BiH, just like the University of Istanbul is the oldest university in Turkey. These two law faculties have developed cooperation, and one aspect is to maintain annually meetings of teachers and staff of these faculties between Sarajevo and Istanbul.

This year, 10 teachers and staff of the Law Faculty of the University of Istanbul will participate with a presentation at the conference, and the conference would be opened by the decan of the Law Faculty in Sarajevo, prof. dr. Borislav Petrović, rector of the University of Sarajevo prof. dr. Muharem Avdispahić and the Ambassador of Turkey to BiH Ahmet Yildiz.

The concept of such a conference is to report on a specific topic from the perspective of Turkish and BiH law, which allows comparative-legal evaluation of problems.

The emphasis of this conference is on criminal law issues.

A large turnout of judges and prosecutors, as well as teachers and staff of other public universities in BiH is expected.
