The topic of the conference will be media and the fight against corruption, with the aim to analyze the level and quality of reporting on corruption in B&H and the region, and problems that the media faces.
Transparency International B&H (TI B&H) and the Center for Investigative Journalism (CIN) is organizing a conference tomorrow, on the International Day Against Corruption.
The reason for the conference are the more frequent attacks and pressure on journalists who are trying to objectively report on corruption cases, which results in fewer independent media and journalists.
Through the conference, they will seek to draw attention on the positive examples from the region, where journalists have successfully overcome obstacles and gained a reputation by pointing to corruption and its effects, thereby resisting the pressures. The conference also seeks to give reporters guidance on how to identify corruption and all its manifestations in order to be better qualified to report about it.
Panelists at the conference will be journalists who have distinguished themselves, and through their work have successfully reported on corruption. They will speak to participants about their experiences, and make recommendations as to how the situation on reporting on corruption in B&H and the region can change.
The conference will take place in Hotel Europe in Sarajevo starting at 15:00.
