In cities of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the region, and the world, gatherings were organized today in honor of the legendary singer Halid Bešlić, a man who left an indelible mark on the music scene and whose songs have marked generations. Gatherings of gratitude and remembrance, which began at 5 p.m., are being held in almost a hundred cities – from Bosnia and Herzegovina to distant Australia.
Numerous citizens gathered in front of the Eternal Flame in Sarajevo to pay tribute and say goodbye to Halid Bešlić, a musical great and humanist who passed away on Tuesday at the age of 72.
Titova Street in the city center was filled with people singing the songs of the legendary singer that generations grew up with.
The gathering began with the song “Sarajevo ljubavi moja” performed by a children’s choir, which Bešlić loved very much.
The large turnout of citizens, as actor Enis Bešlagić, at whose initiative rallies are being held throughout our country, the region and the world, told BHRT, shows how much of a human being Halid was.
Bešlagić addressed the crowd via video and said that we had lost a person who spread so much love.
“This togetherness today is special and unprecedented. I hope that today we will sing songs at the top of our voices in honor of our legend,” said Bešlagić.
The rally in Sarajevo was also attended by numerous celebrities, including actor Emir Hadžihafizbegović, then Hanka Paldum, Ademir Kenović…
The city on the Vrbas River is also paying tribute to Halid Bešlić today. It was in Banja Luka that the legendary singer Halid Bešlić had his last performance in mid-August in front of thousands of people.
A large number of gathered citizens of all ages sang the hits of Halid Bešlić in the “Oslobođenja” Park, and the last farewell to the man who erased borders and united people throughout the former Yugoslavia with his music and good deeds was organized by the City Administration of Banjaluka.
The City Administration of Banjaluka appealed to the citizens not to buy flowers and candles, but to donate money for food for the work of the Red Cross public kitchen, which, they stated, was in the spirit of the humanitarian work of Halid Bešlić.
A common moment of remembrance – symbolic gatherings of citizens were held in Tuzla, Zenica, Bihać, Doboj, Bijeljina, Mostar and numerous other cities.
The women and men of Mostar gathered on the Spanish Square, and along with the lyrics of Halid’s hits, they expressed their sadness and gratitude, saying goodbye to the singer whose work left an indelible mark on the regional culture.
Previously, a silent “jump without applause” was performed from the Old Bridge, as a tribute to the artist who connected shores and people with his music.
