Construction of one of the largest NATO military bases in Europe has begun in Romania.
Romania has allocated a budget of approximately 2.7 billion dollars for the huge military base, the national media announced.
As part of the project, the 57th Air Force Base, located near Constanta, Romania, will be expanded and ready to accommodate approximately 10,000 NATO personnel and their families.
The base in question will have basic military infrastructure such as airstrips and hangars for military aircraft, as well as civilian facilities such as schools, kindergartens, shops and even hospitals and will be self-sustaining and equipped to meet various operational requirements, AA writes.
