Construction of Hydropower Plants to Begin Soon

After several months of preparation, the municipal government in Sanksi Most has begun activities on the project of building 14 mini hydropower plants in the river canyon Bliha. Municipal authorities have requested a concession from the Cantonal Ministry of Economy.

“For the realization of this project we have found strategic partners who are interested in investing. In order to implement everything, we plan to establish a company with mixed ownership, and the municipality will enter the project through the company ‘Vodovod I Kanalizacija” (Water and Sewage System)’’, said the Mayor of Sanski Most Mustafa Avdagić.

The mini hydropower plants would be built on the river Bliha on the right tributaries of the Sana.

“The municipality does not have good experience when it comes to concessionaries that exploit the natural resources. For last year on this basis we are demanding 1.3 million KM, and concluded that it would pay off better if we use our natural resources’’, said Avdagić.
