In the St. Ignatius of Loyola parish in the Grbavica quarter of Sarajevo, the construction of the church and pastoral center is progressing very well.
Thanks to the help of the Italian Episcopal Conference, the Archdiocese of Cologne and many dear people from B&H and abroad, the constructional works continued in the middle of the March 2015, when they approached to the work on the insulation of the roof of the church and pastoral center in order to cover the atrium and prevent any leaks.
After the successful completion of these works, they started with the installation of windows in order to close the church space and pastoral center. The carpentry was first prepared and then installed.
“We are very happy that we received a church bell as a gift from the apostolic visit of Pope Francis,” said the pastor of the community of the Society of Jesus, Kresimir Djaković, who also thanked all dear benefactors for their kindness and generosity towards the parish of St. Ignatius of Loyola and its believers.
Pastor Krešimir emphasized that upcoming new works in the following period require additional funding in order to bring to an end this, as he noted, “important and pleasing to God act”.
“Now we will be working on interior design works, design of facade, water, electricity, telephone and gas connections, as well as the furnishing of the church and the pastoral center,” said Djaković expressing his hope that “the good people will help them with this as they did before”.
Everyone who is willing to help building the parish church and pastoral center of St. Ignatius can hand their help to pastor Krešimir or other pastors, or can pay on the accounts of the parish:
