Contract for Reconstruction of vertical Transportation on Bjelašnica signed

Bjelašnica sa-c.netAt a press conference held on the occasion of the signing of the contract for reconstruction of vertical transportation on Bjelašnica mountain, it was stated that this is a capital project for BiH in economic and tourist sense.

One of the most potent skiing sites in BiH is not on the level it should be, and 16 million BAM were allocated for this investment.

“Vertical transportation and artificial snowing are one of the most important factors in the offer of one ski-center. By installing new equipment, we create conditions for provision of the highest quality services in this field. We are waiting for urbanistic consent from the relevant authorities and the deadline for submitting the final design is getting closer. We can expect the beginning of works later this month or at the beginning of the next month. Planned completion of works is in 2017,” said Midhat Hubijar, Director of ZOI 84.

The only dilemma is whether the execution of works will disturb the ski season.

The existing three-seater will be removed and replaced with new four-seater and six-seater, which is the most capital part of this project.

“The Government has been announcing this project from the very beginning. Tourism is the fastest growing branch in the Sarajevo Canton and this project should return the old glory to Bjelašnica,” said the Prime Minister of the Sarajevo Canton, Elmedin Konaković.
