Cooperation of Doboj and Turkey

RS Vice-president Enes Suljkanović, together with president of Doboj City Assembly Esmin Mahmutović and deputy mayor Nebojša Marković talked with the Ambassador of Turkey in BiH Ahmet Yıldız, who visited Doboj as a part of the project of BiH European Movement.

Manager of Turkish Ziraat Bank in BiH Ali Riza Akbas, president of BIGMEV organisation Muzafer Cilek, who is also honorary consul of BiH in Bursa were also members of Turkish delegation.

BiH Ministry of Foreign Affairs was represented by Edhem Pašić.

The topic of the meeting was the cooperation of Turkey and Doboj which started with the visit of Suljkanović and Obren Petrović, mayor of Doboj, in November 2012.

Suljkanović presented to Turkish ambassador the undertaken activities of his cabinet in cooperation with BIGMEV and Petrović of organising the visit of delegation of Bursa city which should led by Governor of that region with businessmen from that region. The visit is planner for March.

Yıldız, Akbas and Cilek presented Turkish potentials, favourable credit line of Turkish Ziraat Bank, which is intended for development of economy and agriculture of BiH.

Today, they plan to visit the business zone in Ševarlije, near Doboj, and then the Delegation will visit Catholic Church, mosque, synagogue and Orthodox Church.

At the end of today’s visit, in the amphitheatre of High Business and Technology School in Doboj, there will be a discussion on topic ‘BiH and Turkey- bridge of cultures, religions and civilisations’ in the context of ‘EU integrations/ European perspective of the Balkans- Turkey as the EU member: Advantage or a problem for the EU’.
