“The USA always cared about the fate of Srebrenica, about the victims of Srebrenica, and we will work and be partners with all political parties with whom we talk in order to reduce tensions and work in the interest of the citizens,” Cormack said.
Cormack highlighted that her country supports the democratic process in BiH and that it is of major importance that all citizens do it, too.
Commenting on the situation after the elections in Srebrenica, the U.S. Ambassador pointed to the fact that the Central Election Commission of BiH is reviewing the results of the elections and that they are the relevant authority for the election process.
“I hope that now, when the elections are over, we can leave behind the rhetoric and political manipulations that occurred all around BiH and to return to the genuine work on issues that are important for the citizens of BiH, such as the development of economy, education, and opening of new workplaces,” Cormack stated.
Cormack expressed hope that the USA will continue cooperating with authorities in the RS and the FBiH which are focused on cooperation, not on confrontations, with the aim of BiH progressing towards Europe and Euro-Atlantic integration.
