Council of Europe Organizing Debate ‘Democracy Caffe’ at SFF

vijeće evropeThe Council of Europe, in partnership with ‘Poster for Tomorrow’ will be the host today of a debate ‘Democracy Caffe’ that will be held as part of the Sarajevo Film Festival at the festival square beginning at 15:00, announced the Office of the Council of Europe in Sarajevo.

The focus of the debate will be young people, who are the key to democracy, and concrete examples of the contribution of young people to democracy will be presented, as well as interesting posters by authors throughout the world on democracy and voting.

Another focus will be the Internet and the ‘No Hate Speech Movement’ of the Council of Europe.

The debate will be attended by nonprofit sector representatives that have given a big contribution to the ‘No Hate Speech Movement’.

The Office of the Council of Europe recalls that 2013 is the European Year of Citizenship and that this year’s focus of the Council at the SFF is devoted to the fight against hate speech.

A short presentation against hate speech will be shown before the showing of every movie, and information leaflets will be available at all festival locations.
