The state court confirmed the indictment against Ratko Vujović, Ljubomir Vlačić, Vitomir Pepić, Milovan Ognjenović, Goran Višković, Željko Dupljanin and Vlastimir Goljan, former commanders and members of the Army of the Republika Srpska (VRS), for genocide or murders committed in July 1995 in the area of Šeković and Vlasenica.

According to the indictment published by the Prosecutor’s Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina on its official website, they are accused of knowingly providing assistance to members of a joint criminal enterprise and to various individuals, military and police units, including units of the Drina Corps, the Main Staff of the Army of the Republika Srpska, the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republika Srpska, whose plan was to imprison and summarily execute, and then bury, military-fit Bosniak men from the Srebrenica enclave, and forcibly relocate the women, children and the elderly, thus destroying them as a group.

Vujović was charged as the commander of the Fifth Battalion of the Military Police of the Drina Corps, Dupljanin and Višković as members of that unit, Vlačić as the commander of the Birčan Brigade of the Army of the Republika Srpska, Pepić as the deputy commander of the Bišin Battalion of this brigade, Ognjenović as the commander of the Military Police Company of the same brigade, and Golijan as member of the Tenth Sabotage Squad of the Main Staff of the Army of the Republika Srpska.

According to one of the charges in the indictment, in mid-July 1995, men and boys who had been brought to the site of the cave “Hashimova Rupa”, previously captured in an attempt to escape from Srebrenica after July 11, 1995, were killed.

According to the indictment, on July 23, 1995, 39 Bosniaks were shot in the area of the meadow called “Doline-Krajevi”, while in the second half of July 1995, a smaller group of people were shot near Vlasenica in the area “Jarovlje”.

The indictment for these crimes was filed at the beginning of December last year, Detektor reminds.

A plea hearing should be scheduled in the following period.
