Court of BiH released Jasmin Mulahusic, No Prohibitive Measures imposed

The Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina released Jasmin Mulahusic, and no prohibitive measures were imposed on him.

The court rejected the motion of the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH to order Mulahusic into custody.

Mulahusic was born in 1976 in Luxembourg, a citizen of BiH and Luxembourg, and the suspect is under investigation by the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH and is charged with inciting national, racial and religious hatred, discord and intolerance.

Mulahusic was arrested on Saturday by BiH Border Police officers, and the Prosecution has linked him to terrorist activities. Custody was proposed, they said, because of the danger that by remaining at liberty, he could obstruct the investigation, conceal evidence and influence witnesses or accomplices, as well as repeat the crime or complete what had been started.

Jasmin Mulahusic was handed over to the Prosecutor’s Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina, where he was questioned as a suspect. He is, among other things, linked to the terrorist organization Al Qaeda.

“According to the collected data, the mentioned suspect was in the focus of interest of the security services of foreign countries and is connected with persons close to the terrorist organization Al Qaeda and other terrorist organizations. These are very complex investigative activities that go beyond the state security of Bosnia and Herzegovina.” is stated from the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH.

Given that certain political entities in BiH are trying to relativize the issue of arresting the suspect, the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH calls on them to refrain from inappropriate behavior and open pressure on the judiciary, which could have detrimental consequences for BiH’s international reputation in security and counterterrorism.
