HDZ BiH party President Dragan Čović expressed hope that all agreements reached by the leaders of the parties cooperating at the level of Bosnia and Herzegovina at the session of the Council of Ministers of BiH will be implemented tomorrow, and that this is a test for all future agreements regarding the path to the EU.

“The last session of the Council of Ministers did not bear fruit. I hope that what we agreed on will be voted on unanimously tomorrow,” Čović said at a press conference in Banja Luka, after a meeting of representatives of the political parties that are partners in the government at the level of BiH.

He expressed hope that an agreement will be reached next week regarding all issues important for BiH’s European path.

“I hope that we will also regulate the issue of fiscal issues. We are creating an environment to make decisions faster and not give anyone the opportunity to celebrate failure. I would be happy if every one of our meetings ended in this way,” Čović emphasized.

Nikšić: Significant step forward made for the functioning of the coalition

SDP BiH President Nermin Nikšić said that at the meeting of representatives of political partners in the government at the level of Bosnia and Herzegovina, a significant step forward was made in creating a more pleasant environment for the work of the Council of Ministers, the functioning of the coalition and the fulfillment of obligations towards citizens.

Nikšić said that at the meeting in Banja Luka, a significant step forward was also made when it comes to the EU path, the fulfillment of obligations from the Growth Plan, as well as creating assumptions that the Council of Ministers is working on the environment in BiH, and that its decisions support and assist projects in both entities and the Brčko District.

He stated at a press conference after the meeting that it is very important that these processes are unblocked.

“It is very important that we have agreed on these few key things and a path for resolving open issues when it comes to some obligations of passing laws on the EU path. We have applied the rule, which has proven successful so far, that when working groups resolve certain issues and reach a solution, then it ends positively and at some political level,” said Nikšić.

He said that he would fully respect today’s agreement and the agreed dynamics of implementing the agreement.

The meeting at the Palace of the Republic was attended by the leaders of the SNSD Milorad Dodik, the HDZ BiH Dragan Čović, and the “troika” parties – the SDP BiH Nermin Nikšić, the People and Justice Elmedin Konaković and Our Party Edin Forto.

The SNSD delegation included the party’s vice presidents Radovan Višković and Željka Cvijanović, Secretary General Srđan Amidžić, SNSD Presidency member Staša Košarac and spokesperson Radovan Kovačević.

The meeting was attended by the President of United Srpska Nenad Stevandić, the Secretary General of DEMOS Boran Bosančić, and the Vice President of HDZ BiH Borjana Krišto.
