Covic meets with the Prime Minister of the Republic of Croatia

The Prime Minister of the Republic of Croatia, Andrej Plenković, and the President of the Croatian National Assembly (HNS) of BiH and the HDZ of BiH, Dragan Čović, met on Monday in Zagreb, where they discussed all the processes that follow after the confirmation of the new Council of Ministers of BiH and further reform processes after the acquisition of candidate status. of the status of BiH.

Plenković and Čović emphasized that the election of Borjana Krišto as the chairperson of the Council of Ministers is an opportunity for bilateral relations between Croatia and Bosnia and Herzegovina to be raised to an even stronger level in the next period.

They mentioned cooperation in terms of joint infrastructure projects, strengthening of bilateral trade, economic and economic relations, as well as the transfer of Croatia’s experiences in the process of accession and full membership in the EU, it was announced on the website of the Croatian government.

The president of HNS and HDZ BiH emphasized that the new government at the state level and the partners that make it up must complete the process of agreement on key political issues.

It was concluded that the political dialogue of the representatives of all three constituent nations has no alternative in reaching an agreement on the BiH Electoral Law, which would give momentum to the consolidation of internal relations and the creation of a positive atmosphere for all much-needed reforms in the economic, economic and technological aspects.

Čović also thanked the Croatian Prime Minister for all the efforts he undertook to help the Croats in Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well as the key contribution in obtaining the candidate status of Bosnia and Herzegovina for membership.

The Prime Minister of the Republic of Croatia emphasized the need for urgent formation of authorities at all levels in BiH, especially in the Federation, in order to ensure the functionality of all institutions and the state.

He stressed that political representatives in Bosnia and Herzegovina should open the topic of electoral legislation reform as soon as possible in order to ensure the full equality of all three constituent peoples, especially the Croats as the smallest.

He added that he expects high-quality and effective cooperation between the Government of the Republic of Croatia and the Council of Ministers on a number of topics that connect Croatia and Bosnia and Herzegovina, which he will discuss soon in Zagreb with the chairperson of the Council of Ministers, Borjana Krišto, during her official visit to Croatia.
