The Chairman of the Presidency of B&H Dragan Covic met with the European Commissioner for European Neighbourhood Policy and Enlargement Negotiations Johannes Hahn in Vienna.
The topic of the meeting between the Chairman of the Presidency of B&H Covic and the European Commissioner Hahn were current and future challenges of B&H at its European path.
Covic reminded the Commissioner Hahn on the steps undertaken by B&H in the last period with the aim of approaching the European Union. In this context, Covic noted the adoption of the Master Plan of the process of integration of B&H into the European Union by the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina, as a meaningful and a time frame for further integration. An important breakthrough, Covic added, was made by adopting and signing of the Reform Agenda at all levels of government, as well as with the agreed system of coordination, which will contribute to the effective implementation of planned reforms.
Covic expressed willingness to continue the started dynamics of the movement of B&H towards the membership in the EU, and stressed the importance of clear commitment of all participants in the reform process.
The collocutors jointly assessed the significant role of the Conference on Western Balkans, which is currently being held in Vienna with the aim of strengthening the mutual relations between the countries in the region and cooperation regarding European Integrations. In this regard, it was also discussed about projects of connecting in the fields of transport and energy.
The European Commissioner for European Neighbourhood Policy and Enlargement Negotiations expressed his satisfaction with the positive moves towards progress, as well as strong support for further activities with the aim of B&H approaching the European Union. On this occasion, the Commissioner Hahn also announced his next visit to B&H in the coming period; it was announced from the Presidency of B&H.
