Creating New Jobs in B&H is Focus of Joint Project of US and Swedish Government

BijeljinaThe joint project of USAID and the Swedish International Agency for Development and Cooperation (SIDA), the project of improving local development (GOLD), will sign a Memorandum on understanding with four partner municipalities from the area of Bijeljina.

The Memorandum of understanding will be signed in Bijeljina today with Thomas Rojas, Director of the Economic Department of USAID in B&H, Nedim Bukvić on behalf of the Swedish Embassy/SIDA, Deputy Mayor of Brčko District B&H and mayors of municipalities Lopare, Ugljevik and Zvornik.

The goal of the USAID SIDA Project to improve local development (GOLD) is strong support to local communities in economic development, attracting investment and creating new jobs.

In achieving these objectives, the project will engage citizens, public and private sector, academic community, nonprofit organizations, as well as donors.

GOLD Project will develop a model for sustainable local development, where the partner municipalities will create a model of economic development that would be applicable throughout the country, as well as the basis for sustainable economic growth.
