Criminal charges have been filed against Rajko Vasic for inciting terrorism. Vasic, who is a member of the Main Board of SNSD, wrote on Twitter yesterday morning that he would blow up the building of the Radio and Television of Bosnia and Herzegovina, BHRT writes.
“BHRT, survival or ruin? Vasic, if you are uncomfortable, I will come and blow it up,” Vasic wrote, enclosing a photo of the BHRT building.
He was reported for inciting terrorism by Damir Arnaut, a member of the House of Representatives of the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Arnaut commented on the application via social media.
BHRT has been in trouble for days now, considering that the Tax Administration of the Federation of BiH has blocked its accounts due to debts, which brings about 800 BHRT employees into existential problems. At the same time, Radio Television of Republika Srpska (RTRS) owes BHRT more than 60 million marks from the common tax paid by BiH citizens, while BHRT’s tax debt is one third lower than the claims that RTRS does not pay to BHRT, the administration said earlier.
The BHRT building in Sarajevo, which is the building of the pre-war Television Sarajevo, houses the Cantonal Television of the Sarajevo Canton, the Federal Television, BH Radio, Federal Radio and BHT 1.
BHRT employees have been urging the public for days to solve the problems that BHRT has and which hinder its normal functioning, reminding that a stable state public service is one of the 14 priorities set by Bosnia and Herzegovina by the European Union as a condition for accession negotiations.
March is coming to an end, and if salaries are not paid soon, the functioning of the public service will be extremely questionable, and perhaps impossible given that BHRT employees have not received a salary for almost two months.
It remains to be seen whether and how this problem will be resolved, and it should not be mentioned how much of a shock it would be for the whole of Bosnia and Herzegovina if about 800 BHRT employees ended up on the street.
