Crnadak talked about European Integration of BiH with Ministers of Foreign Affairs of Croatia and Slovenia

crnadakMinister of Foreign Affairs of BiH Igor Crnadak participated in the first Forum of the EU Strategy for the Adriatic and Ionian Region (EUSAIR), which is organized by the European Commission and the Government of Croatia, and it is held in Dubrovnik on the 12th and 13th of May 2016.

Yesterday during the Forum, Minister Crnadak held separate meetings with the Minister of Foreign and European Affairs of the Republic of Croatia Miro Kovac and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Slovenia, Karl Erjavec.

During the meeting with the Minister Kovac, they emphasized the good bilateral relations between BiH and Croatia, and both ministers expressed their desire to further improve relations. Ministers discussed the Agreement on European Partnership between BiH and Croatia, which is in its final stage, and they agreed that it will be signed during Minister Crnadak’s return visit to Zagreb.

Ministers discussed process of European integration of BiH and the implementation of the Reform Agenda, with special emphasis on the Stabilization and Association Agreement, and the fact that the process of adjustment will end soon.

Ministers Crnadak and Kovac talked about the joint session of the Government of Croatia and the Council of Ministers of BiH that will be held by the end of the year and it will be another confirmation of readiness for improvement of relations between the two countries. The ministers concluded that it needs to be not only formal, but to result in concrete progress when it comes to specific joint projects and different opened questions, such as: construction of Peljesac Bridge, bridges in Gradiska and Svilaj, the question of nuclear landfill in Trgovska gora, as well as question of border crossings Novi Grad and Maljevac.

Activities within the Central European Initiative, which is chaired by BiH this year, were also discussed at the meeting and Minister Kovac confirmed their attendance at the ministerial meeting CEI at the 16th of June 2016 in Banja Luka.

On the meeting with Minister Erjavec, Minister Crnadak expressed his belief that the current good neighborhood and successful bilateral cooperation between Slovenia and BiH will be improved and strengthen in all aspects.

They discussed the implementation of verdictof the European Court of Human Rights in Strasbourg in terms of return of old foreign currency savings in Ljubljanska Bank, and Minister Crnadak emphasized that the resolution of this issue is especially important for BiH, as it relates to hundreds of thousands of citizens of BiH.
