Croatian Prime Minister: BiH must join the European Train

Croatian Prime Minister Andrej Plenković said today in Brussels that the authorities in Bosnia and Herzegovina should make additional efforts and pass several laws in order to give the country the opportunity to open accession negotiations.

“We believe that Bosnia and Herzegovina should make this additional step forward and pass several laws that were very precisely defined last year so that the progress report that the Commission will publish will be more positive,” Plenković said after the two-day EU summit.

“Bosnia and Herzegovina must join the European train and the negotiation process, which then facilitates the internal and reform agenda and the entire transformation, but also the involvement of all stakeholders in that process,” Plenković added, reports Hina news agency.

On November 8, the European Commission will publish a report on the progress of candidate countries for membership.

Based on these reports, the heads of state or government of the EU member states will decide in December whether to approve the start of accession negotiations with Ukraine, Moldova and Bosnia and Herzegovina.
