The Croatian army liberated Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH), without the Croatian army there is no Dayton, it doesn’t exist even in theory, Croatian President Zoran Milanovic stated on Wednesday at the ceremonial academy marking the Day of the Croatian Army, the Day of the Croatian Ground Army, and the 34th anniversary of the establishment of the Croatian Army.
In his speech, he called the indictments for Croatian wartime commanders coming from BiH “a pure political game and pure political abuse,” saying that it must stop.
“Such things must never happen again. I don’t see what the next goal is that could compromise us or restrain our action so that from neighboring states, primarily from BiH, we would no longer receive those indictments for our wartime commanders after 30 years. All the indictments coming from BiH for alleged criminal acts, allegedly committed in the fight against Bosniak or Serb forces, come through the Sarajevo prosecutor’s office. All of them are indictments for collective command responsibility based on the verdict against six officials of the Croatian people in BiH. What is the role of the Croatian state in that? That must stop, that is a pure political game, pure political abuse,” said Milanovic.
As stated by his office, Milanovic emphasized “that it is time to say – enough, especially for what is being done to Croatia, accusing the army that liberated BiH.”
“The Croatian army liberated BiH, without the Croatian army there is no Dayton, it doesn’t exist even in theory,” Milanovicstated.
