Croatian President: Why High Representative did not use Bonn Powers for Election Law?

We did not wait long for another review by Croatian President Zoran Milanovic on the political situation in BiH. He asked why the High Representative in BiH, Christian Schmidt, did not use the Bonn powers to amend the Election Law and ensure that BiH Croats elect their representatives in elections.

In his question concerning the High Representative, whom Milanovic claims to be illegal, he referred to the 2016 decision of the BiH Constitutional Court in the Ljubic case.

“Why doesn’t this man use his Bonn powers, which are undemocratic and violent, but they are used. Why doesn’t he make a decision according to which the decision of the BiH Constitutional Court is automatically implemented in the legislative space, not to depend on the BiH Assembly which doesn’t act on order of the Constitutional Court? “Milanovic asked.
