Cudic: NiP and SDP have taken a big Bite of Power

Sabina Cudic, a representative in the House of Representatives of the Parliament of Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH), believes that there is a huge difference between the SDA-HDZ-SNSD coalition and the Eight-HDZ-SNSD coalition.

“I think that for decades the SDA and the DF have put us in a position where it is difficult to negotiate in this way because they agreed for their own and personal interests to terrible compromises and things they agreed on in the past. In this sense, we are distinguished by determination. The determination is that it is not enough to be not as bad as SDA and DF, but the determination is to be so much better that in four years people will not have a dilemma as to who to vote for,” Cudic told.

When asked whether Our Party agreed to certain compromises, Cudic replied that compromise is absolutely necessary in BiH.

“You have three possible questions in BiH. Those from SDA and DF say that they know what kind of BiH they don’t want, that is, what kind of BiH they want, and most often they don’t have an answer to the question of how to achieve it. I think that the strategy of the Eight is correct – to look for the smallest common element and to open space for the next levels and steps. At the same time, I think that some things are not taken seriously enough,” she stressed.

Also, she noted that she does not believe that the political goals of HDZ and SNSD have changed, but the way citizens will perceive that coalition in four years will depend on the Eight and the wise navigation of the minefield of that coalition.

“Of course, a compromise is necessary. Have the political goals of all parties changed – no, but the political goals of the Eight should be radically different from the political goals of the SDA, that is, the personal goals they had,” said Cudic.

Judging by the current constellation of things, Elmedin Konakovic will be the Minister of Foreign Affairs. I think that the prime minister of Canton Sarajevo (CS) should remain the position of Our Party and that these things will be regulated in a different way with Mr. Efendic. I think that NiP and SDP took a big bite at different levels of government and that SDP made a number of concessions because of Mr. Niksic‘s ambitions to be the prime minister of the Federation,” she said.

She explained that changes to the Election Law will be a test for the coalition.

“Like many other things in the agreement. The test of every coalition is the degree of implementation of what was presented to the public. I wouldn’t say that we satisfied Dragan Covicwhen it comes to the Election Law. I think that many things from the agreement that would imply compliance are deleted. What perhaps worries me more is the capacity to carry out this reform even though we are talking about judicial reform. It can hardly be carried out with Mr. Tegeltija. This constellation has enormous challenges and Our party will do everything to cleverly navigate through these challenges, but we don’t promise miracles,” mentioned Cudic, Klix.ba reports.
