Cut-up Ball was left in front of the House of the brutally murdered BiH Basketball Player

A few days ago, an unknown person or several people left a cut-up basketball in the yard of the former family home of Edin Salaharevic, who was brutally murdered. This gruesome act was discovered by Nedim, Edin’s brother, who was visiting the house in Vlasenica.

In front of Edin Salaharevic was a brilliant basketball career that was cut short by the aggressors during the aggression against Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH). This basketball player, born in 1973, was brutally murdered together with his father Muhamed on September 13th, 1992 in the Susica camp.

He was found in one of the mass graves in 2009, and according to the identification report, he was tortured before his death. His brother Nedim, who is five years younger, managed to avoid the same fate and was transported to Tuzla by bus with his mother Hatidza.

Nedim, who looked war criminals in the eye, very often visits the family house in Vlasenica, and that was the case last weekend when he saw something gruesome in front of the house.

Namely, Nedim found a cut basketball in the yard, which represented one of his brother Edin’s sporting symbols.

Moreover, he spent the past few days in Vlasenica on the occasion of the anniversary of the closure of the Susica camp, where he last saw his brother Edin on September13th, 1992.

As he says, the scene he found in front of the family house did not leave him indifferent.

“Recently, more and more people have asked me if I’m selling the house. I answer that the house is not for sale. Moreover, I’m starting the reconstruction of the house and the yard, where there will be a basket again as a memory of my brother. I plan to make a memorial room for him in the house. The fact that they threw a cut-up basketball and garbage in my yard, even though the trash bin is nearby, will not sway me. I have more strength than they think for what I have imagined and what I will realize,” Nedim expressed.

Namely, Nedim recently testified in the case against Manet Djuric, Radenko Stanic, Goran Garic, and Miroslav Mico Kraljevic. At the time, he said that his family was thwarted in one of their many attempts to leave Vlasenica by a special officer from Mladenovac who arrived in the town with Kraljevic in early 1992. At the trial, Salaharevic presented a number of other details, and the defense of the accused had no counter-questions,Klix.ba reports.
