The member of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Željka Cvijanović, said that she does not make political alliances with anyone, not even with Darijana Filipović from the HDZ BiH, although, as she says, their views coincide when it comes to protecting the rights of constituent nations.
Cvijanović stated that there are issues on which she and Filipović think the same, but that she does not consider it a political alliance, but a common position on the protection of the constitutional rights of the constituent nations. As a common point, she stated respect for the constitutional mechanisms for the protection of collective rights and the fact that no one may impose their will on others or establish dominance.
She pointed out that the goal of her and SNSD’s policy is the protection of Republika Srpska and that she will look for points of agreement with others, but without deviating from that goal.
“We don’t need rotten compromises. We need fair play,” Cvijanović told Provjereno.
She also referred to the election results, assessing that voters in the RS showed confidence in the SNSD’s ability to lead the entity both in times of crisis and in more peaceful times.
Cvijanović believes that the stories about a possible “two to one” over-voting in the Presidency in the campaign served to mobilize voters and intimidate, should she and Filipović become members of the Presidency.
She reminded that there are mechanisms to protect against overvoting, such as issues that require consensus and protection of vital interests, and added that there have always been overvotes on certain issues.
