-The Deputy Chairman of the BiH Council of Ministers and the Minister of Finance and Treasury Nikola Špirić met the Ambassador of the Czech Republic to BiH today Tomáš Szunyog.

At the meeting they assessed that the bilateral relations between the two countries are good, and that they have to work on improving the economic relations between BiH and the Czech Republic, whose investors are particularly interested in investing in the area of construction and energy.

Špirić said that it is necessary to create an environment to attract foreign investors in BiH, and they are working on harmonization of legislation.

During the meeting they spoke of the resolution of debt between the former countries of Czechoslovakia and the Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia, which is estimated to be around 85 million US dollars.

Špirić stressed that preparations for the meeting of the Permanent Joint Commission of the High Representative of successor states is underway, which will be held in Sarajevo this time, and the time of the meeting still has to be determined. This is an opportunity for ministries of finance of successor states to become familiar with the issue of clearing debt to the former Czechoslovakia, announced the BIH Ministry of Finance and Treasury.
