The analyst Nathan Dabrowski analyzed for Fair Observer the current political situation in B&H, pointing out that Dayton is dead and that Russia is lurking opportunities in B&H, trying to act like a big brother to Republika Srpska (RS).
At the very beginning of the analysis. Dabrowski quoted the former High Representative in B&H Paddy Ashdown who once said that the Dayton Agreement was excellent for stopping the war, but very bad for the formation of the state.
“The announcement of a referendum in the B&H entity RS might endanger the Dayton Peace Agreement twenty years after the signing. Russia is lurking in B&H and wants to tousle feathers at the borders of the EU”, said Dabrowski for Fair Observer.
Dabrowski highlighted that the same day when a referendum on secession was held in the Ukraine region of Crimea, Republika Srpska received great support from Russia.
According to Dabrowski’s analysis, B&H is another country where Russia is trying to reduce the impact of the Western countries.
“Thanks to this cooperation, both the President of RS Milorad Dodik and the Russians get what they want. Twentieth anniversary of Dayton might also be the last anniversary”, Dabrowski warned.
Dabrowski noted that with the upcoming referendum Dodik accelerates the step in achieving his mission – loosening the ties of RS with B&H as much as possible.
