Day of Mourning in BiH due to the Lives lost in Floods and Landslides

Today, the Day of Mourning was declared in the entire territory of BiH on the occasion of the lives lost in the floods and landslides that hit parts of Bosnia and Herzegovina, in which at least 20 people died.

The decision on the Day of Mourning was made by the Entity Governments for the areas of both Entities, as well as the Brčko District Government for the District area.

The Day of Mourning is marked by the mandatory display of flags at half-mast, i.e. mast, on the buildings of legislative, executive and judicial authorities, public institutions, institutions and other legal entities in the territory of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

On the Day of Mourning, cultural and entertainment programs cannot be held in public places in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Media houses on the territory of Bosnia and Herzegovina are obliged to harmonize and adapt their program content to the Day of Mourning.

According to data from the Herzegovina-Neretva Canton, the search for nine people is still ongoing: five in Jablanica, four in Konjic.

In addition to human casualties, the floods caused enormous material damage, and aid to the flooded parts of Bosnia and Herzegovina was sent from the countries of the region, the European Union, Turkey…
