Many municipalities in our country have their own brand. In Glamoč, it’s potatoes, and in its honor, 15 “Days of Glamoč potatoes” have been organized so far, or popularly known as the ‘potato jam’. This weekend, that vegetable garden also received an event called “Gastrokrompirijada”. It was organized by the Women’s Association “Žad” Glamoč as part of the wider project “Together we are stronger” implemented with the women’s associations “Most” Jablanica and “Merdžan” from Tešanj.

Potatoes from Glamoc fed many families, educated many scientists. It still does today. Therefore, the first “Gastrokrompirijada” was organized in honor of his majesty.

“We promote potatoes as our brand, since Glamoč is known for potatoes, and at the same time we present our work, the works created in the Association, and thus we promote the potential of Glamoč as a tourist destination,” explains Mirela Ledenko, president of the Women’s Association “Žad”.

It was an opportunity for the project partners to dive into the rich taste of traditional Glamoc potato dishes, meet people and enjoy the beautiful landscape.

“Potatoes, cheese, what they do in Glamoč… What potential they have – I don’t think they are even aware of it,” points out Ćamila Imamović, president of the Women’s Association “Most” from Jablanica.

Zijada Kurdić is the president of the Women’s Association “Merdžan” from Tešanj: “Today we had very nice weather, the scenery is wonderful. We come from three different geographical areas and that was probably the goal – we exchanged experiences, acquaintances and I think we will continue to cooperate in the future”.

“This is a place that can be an air spa, that can be so inspiring for all tourists, for mountaineers. All these natural beauties, the resources, the potential they have, these fields – I think it can be a big, big source of financing”, adds Imamović.

It was also said that local communities do not give enough space to the initiatives of the non-governmental sector, and such and similar activities are supported through the project “Strengthening trust and cohesion in the communities of BiH” which is jointly implemented by the European Union in BiH, the United Nations, the OSCE Mission in BiH and the Council of Europe.
