In the ambience of the medieval fortress Stari Grad, last night in Travnik, in the presence of many visitors, the cultural, entertainment and economic event “Days of the Diaspora 2023” was officially opened.

The first event in the series was the promotion of the book “Father” by the young writer and journalist Gloria Lujanović. Gloria Lujanović, who was born in Novi Travnik and currently resides in Zagreb, presented her debut novel, which, upon its publication in April 2023, attracted great attention from the audience and literary critics.

The book was presented by writer Josip Mlakić and museum curator Enes Škrgo, and Lujanović intrigued the imagination of many visitors by reading excerpts from the book, and expressed her satisfaction that she was part of the Diaspora Days event, the organizers announced.

“The book is emotional, but at the same time sad and humorous and tells the story of the father as the protagonist, whose world is made up of homeland and foreign countries, as well as war and what happened after the war, and the father speaks from the space of memory and the past,” Lujanović said.

President of the Diaspora Day Organizing Committee and Assistant to the Municipal Mayor for Development, Economy and Non-Economy Azem Ejubović said that he was extremely satisfied with the response and interest in the program of this year’s manifestation.

“I hope that participants and visitors will enjoy a variety of contents that are adapted to different interests, so that everyone can find something interesting for themselves,” said Ejubović.

As the organizers pointed out, during the week in Travnik, in addition to numerous business meetings, a photo exhibition, a professional lecture, an educational workshop, a book promotion, a literary and musical evening, and a sculpture exhibition are expected, as well as a concert by Zdravko Čolić, which is scheduled for the 5th August at the Pirota stadium.
