Decrease in Tourist Arrivals to Republika Srpska Entity

In Republika Srpska entity (RS), the number of tourist arrivals and overnight stays declined in December 2019, according to data from the entity’s Bureau of Statistics.

There were 29,054 visits, which was 0.9 percent less than in November 2019, while the number of overnight stays (69,860) decreased by 4.1 percent.

The number of tourist arrivals in December 2019 compared to the same month of the previous year increased by 3.9 percent and the number of overnight stays increased by 6.9 percent as well.

In December 2019, there were 14,221 foreign tourists staying in RS, who made 36,341 overnight stays.

As before, the highest number of guests came from Serbia (4,899), with 10,598 overnight stays.

In second place are Croatian citizens, of which there were 2,937, with 11,611 nights, and from Slovenia 2,282 visits and 4,969 nights were recorded.

There were more arrivals (5,470) and overnight stays (15,555) in the mountain centers, while the largest number of guests stayed in other tourist resorts, with 17,696 arrivals and 27,233 overnight stays.

Tourists were mostly accommodated in hotels and similar accommodation (28,207).

In December 2019, the RS had 10,740 permanent beds in tourist facilities, Fena reports.
