After the third session of the annual session of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PSVE) was opened, a series of meetings in which members of the permanent delegation of the BIH Parliament in the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe participated, was held.
The meeting of the Committee on Legal Affairs and Human Rights was attended by Milica Marković and Nermina Kapetanović, the meeting of the Committee for Migration, Refugees and Displaced Peoples was attended by Borjana Krišto and Krunoslav Vrdoljak, while the session of the Committee for Equality and non-discrimination, as well as the Committee for Culture, Sport, Education and Media was attended by Ismeta Dervoz.
Nermina Kapetanović participated in the discussion of the Committee on Legal Affairs and Human Rights and the declaration of the election of members of the European Committee for Prevention of Torture and Inhuman Behavior.
Kapetanović also participated today in the meeting of the Subcommittee on Human Rights.
The Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe decided to hold an emergency debate on religious persecution in Iran, the situation in Georgia and the protests and threats to freedom of assembly, freedom of media and freedom of expression.
In addition, it was decided to hold a discussion on the current issue of “state interference in the private lives of citizens on the Internet”.
Members of the delegation of the BIH Parliament participated in meetings of political groups of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe that was held before the opening of the session of the Parliamentary Assembly, and they met with the Ambassador of BiH in Strasbourg Almir Šahović.
During the discussion, they exchanged information on the current progress of BiH in meeting their commitments, as well as possible future steps, announced the BIH Parliament.
