The Charge d’Affaires of the United States (U.S.) Embassy in Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH), Daniel Koski, stated that democracy is not a final destination, but a daily process of building, renewal, and shared commitment to the values that connect us.

In his address on the occasion of U.S. Independence Day, he emphasized the symbolism of New Orleans as a city that embodies the spirit of resilience, creativity, and unity, the U.S. Embassy Press Office in BiH announced.

Koski said that the same spirit of resilience can also be found in BiH.

He praised the citizens of BiH who invest in their communities, educate young people, and encourage reforms.

The U.S., as he said, remains committed to supporting the sovereignty, territorial integrity, and multiethnic character of BiH.

He emphasized that change cannot come only from the outside but requires leadership and courage from within.

He underlined that justice, faith, and the responsible use of power are the foundation of U.S. democracy.

Koski called on political leaders to choose compromise instead of division and progress instead of politics, and he compared democracy to jazz, which arises through listening, trust, and joint creation.
