Deputy Defense Minister seeks Reaction from EUFOR and NATO

While we rely on partnerships with the United States and European countries, colleague Helez’s actions are sending dangerously bad signals to international partners, he said

Deputy Minister of Defense of Bosnia and Herzegovina Aleksandar Goganović stated that “it is high time that international partners, EUFOR and NATO react to the problematic statements of Zukan Helez, who is collapsing the Armed Forces with his actions and statements”.

He pointed out that the defense system requires stability and a professional attitude of all officials, and that “this kind of behavior by Helez is completely inappropriate and damaging to the reputation of the institutions”.

Colleague Helez is undermining the joint Armed Forces with his actions and statements. This is not the path to strengthening defense, but the path to new crises, Goganović said.

He added that BiH must rely on its proven partners.

“While we rely on partnerships with the United States and European countries, colleague Helez is sending dangerously bad signals to international partners with his actions and is moving BiH away from a stable and predictable course in the field of defense,” Goganović told Srna news agency.

He pointed out that certain diplomatic contacts and initiatives by Helez in the past, such as contacts with Iran, have caused concern among some partner countries, primarily the USA, and pointed out that the task of the Ministry of Defense is to strengthen, not question, partnerships with the USA and European allies.
