Principal Deputy High Representative and Brčko District Supervisor Michael Scanlan commends the efforts and dedication of the Brčko District Red Cross who have been working tirelessly alongside the Brčko District Police, the Inspectorate, and healthcare teams, to help Brčko residents affected by the COVID-19 crisis. The Supervisor also praises the selfless work of Brčko’s volunteers, humanitarian workers, NGOs, members of the Civilian Protection Agency and the Mountain Rescue Service.

Aside from those working on the frontline – the medical professionals, the police, and government representatives – there are many people working on disinfection, logistics, and getting supplies and aid to residents who are unable to leave their homes. All these persons deserve our gratitude and support, added the Supervisor.

Supervisor Scanlan underscores that the COVID-19 crisis affects the entire society, without discrimination, which is why it is essential to show solidarity with the most vulnerable groups.

The Supervisor urges citizens to continue to observe all measures and instructions issued by the authorities to mitigate the spread of COVID-19. Discipline and solidarity will help those who are actively working to contain the spread of the coronavirus. With a communal effort the medical disaster can be avoided, the effects of the crisis mitigated, and the work to ensure the District’s prosperity resumed.
